On June 29, we became Etgar 36
And immediately destroyed the cliques.
We talked over each other’s voices, so awkward and so new
Because it would be forever until we said bye to the 22s.
I won’t talk about forever friendship because that would be too cheesy
But Eric and his start to the journey made me really uneasy.
First sight that we saw was the Leo Frank tree
Leading us across the South on Civil Rights history.
Reverends’ voices are the strongest
Martha’s cooking fills you up the longest
Then we went from Sweet Home Alabama to Walking in Memphis.
We learned how Elvis’ karate chop turned white music into hip hop
And since I learned how Elvis favored his right toe
Graceland became my second home.
Is this a life? Is this a life?
As a woman, I know that fertility is most important
And my job in life is to be a wife.
We learned about conspiracies from Dallas to Oklahoma City
And we learned that Blake’s birthday baseball announcer voice
Is actually quite pretty,
But nothing is so pretty as the happening town of Dodge City.
Denver taught us that although there are guns and hunger in the world
If you go on too many sketchy amusement park rides
You will definitely hurl.
Focus on the Family spoke to us in Colorado Springs
Then we went to Boulder to meditate
And buy liberal artsy things.
Salt Lake City surprisingly has a beautiful JCC
And Mr. NRA won’t need his machine guns
With his triple black belt in karate.
Jesus loves us, even in Chinese
Although there were no Mormons at the Roots concert scene.
Zion National Park’s squirrels were incredibly brave
And the Grand Canyon was just a little bit bigger than a cave
But the beauty we saw in those parks those days
Could not compare to the grandeur of the Vegas buffet.
Apparently, Israel is connected to illegal immigration,
And the Culinary Workers Union is one of the best in the nation.
Too bad the boys couldn’t get the numbers of Miss USA
But the Blue Man Group’s toilet paper really made my day.
When we got to LA, we learned about power,
And I really thought we should have been at Venice Beach for more than an hour.
But the poetry slam is one of the coolest places I’ve ever been
And that is what inspired me to pick up this pen.
I guess that people are gonna leave in the morning
I’m not sure how three weeks passed without any warning.
Even though it’s a total cliché, I definitely enjoyed every day.
I love being on the bus for long periods of time,
Even driving all night, you guys made it fine.
Hillz wanted me to shout out all the staff, and I love you all because
Amy’s really funny
And Billy’s got all the money
And Ezra’s here with this honey
But I’m gonna miss Adam and his laugh.
I’m gonna miss all of us dancing in the aisles
FOUL IT!
Drop it like it’s hot
We won’t be together again for awhile.
We have two more weeks without you 22s
It just won’t be the same
But we’re gonna have so much fun
While you’re home being lame.
Even though I feel like I just said hi, I guess it’s time to say goodbye
I will miss you all very much, but I know that we’ll all keep in touch
Because she ain’t got no man.
Well, there ain’t no mountain Dan enough,
Tell me how I’m supposed to breathe with no Brad,
The twins are gonna miss their “dad,”
Shake shake shake, shake shake shake, shake that Fannica.
Rachael’s gonna rock Boulder,
I wish my boy Eyal were older,
We’ll miss Kiki’s sunglasses, all of Madi’s passes (on boys)
And Sam’s absence will reduce a lot of noise.
I love you all.
